SULEYMAN CIVLIZ (1983) was born in Safranbolu and graduated from Anadolu University, Faculty of Communication Sciences, Department of Cinema-TV. He started his first professional life with advertising and cinematography during his school years. After his university education, he worked as an assistant director in the cinema industry. He worked as a director on various national television channels. In the meantime, he worked as a director, assistant director and screenwriter in documentary films. To carry his work to an academic level, he started to work as a lecturer at Karabük University, Radio-TV Programming Department. He gave lectures on shooting techniques, script writing, editing, TV programming, and documentary cinema. He founded and coordinated a TV channel and radio station broadcasting regionally within the university. In 2015, he started working as a lecturer at Haliç University, Department of Film Design. In 2017, he left his position at the university and worked as a freelancer in the film and TV industry. He continues to realise many projects, such as TV programs, commercials, and documentary films. He was the director of the 1st Afyon Film Festival. He was a member of the main jury of the Bingöl Short Film Festival twice. He gave various conferences on the topic of Domestic Film Language. He, whose book reviews, articles and stories have been published in various websites and printed magazines, is married and has one child.
