An old refugee begins a long and rough journey with his granddaughter, to carry the dead body of his wife to her homeland. They try to complete this journey by hitchhiking as they don't have enough money, however they get stranded on the road. The vehicles don’t want to help these two refugees carrying a coffin. Their efforts to clutch onto the life during this journey will help to break down walls between them and build a stronger connection with each other.

Bekir Bülbül
Bekir Bülbül got his masters in theatre department in Istanbul University. He began filmmaking with directing documentaries in year 2014 and made his first fiction film MY SHORT WORDS; its world premiere in 37th Istanbul Film Festival and was invited to film festivals in more than thirty countries and won many Grand Prizes.
Director’s statement:
Years ago, Tolstoy was asked that question; What men live by? We are still seeking for an answer. Truly, what we live by and what are we living for? It seems that; we are all immigrants in this world. In other words, somehow, we came here and we will return back soon. So, what are the things we carry? Myself, my body and my inner child… Three heavy burdens that we have to carry until the border, to the final destination… This is the nuisance that lies in the heart of our film; An old immigrant MUSA wants to carry the corpse of his wife to her homeland and to burry there. And he starts a crazy journey under the harsh climatic conditions taking his granddaughter with him. At the sociologic level; this film is a metaphor, allegory of civilization in today’s world. This world order like ‘funeral’ is the heavy burden we carry on our backs. We both carry them on our backs and we raise new generations that we will deliver these as a heritage.
