However, the financing hurdles faced by independent producers of drama series remain a significant roadblock. Our panel will center on the intricate financing dynamics surrounding drama series and the pivotal role of public broadcasters and funds as essential financiers of independently produced content.

Alex Traila

Alex Traila is a European audiovisual policy expert with over 15 years of experience in the film industry and government affairs and contributor to a number of reports and studies. He is currently programme manager for the Pilot Programme for Series Co-Productions at the Council of Europe, where he is actively involved in the development of a set of measures dedicated to strengthening international series co-production practices.

Jarmo Lampela

Jarmo Lampela has worked as the Head of Drama at YLE since 2015. He graduated from ELO, Finnish Film School in 1992 and has worked as a director, scriptwriter and producer with numerous cinema, television and theatre productions. From 2007 to 2014, Jarmo worked as the Professor of Film Directing and Head of the Department of Film, Television and Scenography at Aalto University, Helsinki.

Anna Fukuda

Anna Fukudais a drama commissioning editor and executive producer at the public broadcaster Arte France, where she works across local and international miniseries and single dramas. Before joining Arte, Anna was head of development at Viceland France and Atlantique Productions in Paris, where she oversaw several high-end drama series and international coproductions. She’s also worked as a freelance script editor in France, the US and the UK. Anna holds a B.A. from McGill University in Montreal and a Masters in Art History from the Courtauld Institute in London.


Julie-Jeanne Régnaul

Julie-Jeanne Régnault is Secretary General of EFAD (European Film Agency Directors Association), the Association of national film and audiovisual agencies representing 37 public funding bodies across Europe. Julie-Jeanne previously led on European Affairs at the Centre National du cinéma et de l'image animée (French Film Center). Specialising in EU affairs and the audio-visual sector, Julie-Jeanne started her career as a consultant and then as a policy officer at the European Commission. She holds a master’s degrees in EU law and EU public policies and graduated in International Relations. She is an EAVE graduate (Producers' Workshop 2017), a Board member of Cineuropa and a member of the European Film Academy.

Milan Stojanović

Milan Stojanović produced OASIS (2020) by Ivan Ikić and the hit children film HOW I LEARNED TO FLY (2022), directed by Radivoje Andrić. Milan co-produced HOUSEKEEPING FOR BEGINNERS (2023) by Goran Stolevski and MALMKROG (2020) by Cristi Puiu, as well as the drama series THE LAST SOCIALIST ARTEFACT (202) by Dalibor Matanic and Ankica Jurić Tilić. Milan is a member of EAVE network and the EAVE national coordinator for Serbia. He is also a member of ACE and the European Film Academy. He graduated Film & TV Production at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade, where he is now teaching.
